Diesel DPF Filters
Diesel particulate Filters will eventually block up due to the fact that it is a filter and the motor is burning an oil and results in a dirty soot particles in the exhaust stream. The further you drive the more soot is collected until the DPF system forces an organic regeneration.
If that regeneration is interrupted (turn off the motor, short runs of less than 10 kms etc.) the soot will build and block the DPF and making a organic regeneration null and void (useless)
Once a regular Diesel Filter regneration has been interrupted, it becomes like a dog chasing it’s tail until DPF clean is carried out or total failure of the DPF.
Once a DPF is either cleaned or replaced it is essential that the Oil + Filter
is changed due to the dilutuion of the oil by the rich mixture of regeneration of the DPF
Also the cause of the DPF issues to be corrected also eg:

- Turbo oil seals and Turbo to sump drain blockage
- Glow Plugs
- Short Runs
